Last month, people from 10 companies across Maine gathered in Eustis for the first-ever ABC Maine Sled-A-Way weekend.
After meeting on Thursday night, Jan. 27, at the Tea Pond Lodge for happy hour and dinner and filling up with a hearty breakfast the following morning, we hit the trails on a 20-degree morning under cloudy skies and light winds.
The group was led by our fearless leader Mark Pollard, the owner of our eponymous electrical company, who aptly named our adventure “Mountain Tour.” We left from Tea Pond Camps and headed to “The Mailbox” on Tim Pass Loop before reaching the top of Kennebago Mountain. From there, we rode to the top of Quill Hill.
Everyone in our party agreed that the ride wouldn’t be complete until we made our way back for appetizers and cold beverages at Trails End in Eustis Village. While some of the group headed back to their camps and lodges, some hardcore, serious riders took advantage of the well-groomed trails and took a quick ride to Grand Falls. We then gathered again at Tea Pond for conversation, cocktails and an excellent meal.
It was great to catch up and network with fellow riders and ABC Maine members—and explore our beautiful state of Maine. We’re already looking forward to next January for the 2023 Sled-A-Way!
These are the kind of networking and fun events that make membership in ABC Maine fun and worthwhile. We want to build our membership and our community, and hosting events like the Sled-A-Way and others is a great way to accomplish our goals.
