If you know the fundamentals, but are ready to take your project management skills to the next level, this workshop is for you! You will learn to effectively lead complex projects and teams through seven interactive modules that cover topics including managing communication strategy, team issues, network diagrams, cost and risk analysis, and troubled projects. The workshop concludes with the delivery of a final presentation, where you will apply your learnings to your unique project challenge.

  • Enhance your managerial communication skills, including analyzing strategies, formulating effective communication processes, and giving/receiving feedback, to effectively impact project success.
  • Develop team-building and management skills, apply conflict resolution techniques, and utilize SMART goals and the project leadership pyramid to create and manage high-performing project teams.
  • Learn the critical path method, including understanding calculations for early start, late start, early finish, and late finish, identifying the critical path, and determining free and total float for effective project scheduling.
  • Gain expertise in managing project risks, assessing low, medium, and high risks, formulating risk management plans, and utilizing project crashing tools to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  • Learn to manage budget control through evaluating monitoring and control techniques, understanding Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts, selecting appropriate budget concepts, and analyzing budget scenarios.
  • Develop the ability to measure project success and failure, analyze success and failure criteria and metrics, discuss degrees of project failure, and identify and manage risks that can lead to project failure.
  • Demonstrate project management techniques and processes through the preparation and presentation of individual recorded projects, creating a final project presentation, and reflecting on the learning journey throughout the workshop.

You can expect to commit up to approximately five (5) hours per week to readings, exercises, and assignments. Students have up to 10-weeks to complete the workshop.
